Last week i had the opportunity to help a friend build the foundation for a new shed that will be delivered in a couple of weeks. his back yard has a bit of a slope, and it would take too much concrete to pour a slab (read how to pour a concrete shed foundation here). for that reason, we decided that building a post and beam foundation would be the best way to go.. A gravel shed foundation may be an easy foundation to build, but it’s a lot of grunt work too. whether a free form or timber-framed pad, it must be compacted and as close to level as possible. if it’s not level, it will fail and damage your shed. hopefully, you now know how to build a gravel shed foundation using crushed stone and not gravel.. When building a shed on unlevel ground, as the foundation grade becomes steeper the problem becomes greater. there are two main solutions to building a shed foundation on a slope: the deck. the retaining wall. note: if you are lucky your shed site will be relatively level. if you only need to build a shed base on a slight slope this can be.

shed foundation slope When a shed has to be built on any slope or other uneven ground, some accommodation will have to be made to make sure the floor is level so the shed will be square and solid. how this is done will depend on how uneven the ground is, what type of soil it is, what water runoff and drainage factors may be involved and the type and weight of the shed..
